Quick action was taken by city employees to repair a broken waterline this morning. These cold temperatures are very hard on our aging waterlines, causing many breaks at this time of the year. City workers are called out at all hours of the day and night to make repairs like this very often. I truly commend these employees for the skill and determination that they exhibited in completing the task with wind chills and temperatures below zero degrees standing in water up to their chests at times. ( Matthew Campbell, Adrian Frogge, Mike Graves, Steve McCoy, Chief Hancock, Rex Pullins and all the others behind the scenes) Thank you also to Bill Ramsey with The Dairy Queen and Rhonda Copeland with the Exxon station for taking these guys hot chocolate and hot coffee as they finished the job at hand.
